The Italian ceramic tile industry’s architecture competition in Europe and North America

Edi.Cer. S.p.A., a publishing, promotion and services company wholly owned by Confindustria Ceramica, as well as the organiser of Cersaie (International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings) and owner of the Ceramics of Italy trademark, is proud to launch the TILE COMPETITION, a contest that aims to honour outstanding projects carried out using Italian ceramic tiles covered by the Ceramics of Italy trademark.

Upon request, Edi.Cer. S.p.a. is entitled to license the Ceramics of Italy trademark to Italian ceramic manufacturers that are members of Confindustria Ceramica, the national association representing Italian manufacturers of ceramic tiles, refractory materials, sanitaryware, tableware and industrial ceramics. The trademark is applicable strictly to products of Italian origin, thereby enhancing their status in terms of design, sustainability and market appeal.

The Tile Competition combines two previously separate Italian ceramic tile contests, one aimed at the North American market and the other focused on Italy. The former had been running for over 30 years, while the latter had reached its 11th edition. In future, the new Tile Competition will alternate between Europe and North America annually, commencing with Europe in 2024 followed by North America in 2025.

The competition consists of three main categories, a small prize category and a category without prize money:

  • Residential
  • Non-residential
  • Urban design
  • Design and new applications
  • Students (no cash prize)

Competition rules and entry procedure 2024
