The theme addressed by the architect is architectural regeneration to combat land consumption and the abandonment of rural centres. This private residence represents a refined transformation with a change of use from agricultural to residential. The intervention has maintained and enhanced the original architectural features of the rural complex: the wooden trusses, the ridge beams and the terzere, as well as the wooden roof with its authentic terracotta tiles. In sharp, deliberate contrast, the porcelain stoneware cladding is modern, establishing a natural dialogue between past and present, tradition and innovation, coexisting in perfect harmony. Ceramic has been used to cover both indoor and outdoor floors, stairs, the TV cabinet, bathrooms, bedrooms, as well as large slabs for the sink top and the sides of the kitchen island. The ceramic surface has now successfully become a true design element.
